elf makeup

swatches
Hi ladies....

In the last few weeks I made a purchase from ELF when they had their free P&P offer on....I got a few things which I will review at a later date...Today I am going to review the e.l.f Eye Transformer...

e.l.f Eye Transformer

All of the colors are shimmers and the colors l-r are...

Light green shimmer
Peach shimmer
Pink shimmer
Blue purplish (that's a word now!!! lol..) shimmer....

First of I would like to say that I love both the standard and studio line that elf offers and have purchased many things in the past. I haven't really tried the mineral range as I don't tend to buy a lot of mineral products. You can get so much for your money with elf and I love to try loads of different things out..who doesn't!!lol...

The black packaging of this palette looks stylish and the plastic window at the top of the compact allows you to see what colors are in the compact...don't you just hate keep picking compacts up and opening them only to find its not the color you wanted...ahhhhhh...so top marks to e.l.f on this design. The mirror inside the compact is a decent size and you can easily see both of your eyes at the same time, so therefore you would be able to do your eye makeup no problem at all.

I tend to use this compact in two ways.....

Number 1.... During the day if I want a really light make up look I use any one of these colors as an normal eyeshadow and they gives your eyes that wide awake look...which we all need from time to time...hahaah...and also I use the same color just under my brow bone

Number 2.....Lets say I have used a navy blue eyeliner along the top & bottom of my lashes, then I would go over that line withe blue/purplish shimmer..it completely changes the color of the eyeliner and makes it brighter...again making your eyes sparkly...

Number 3....I haven't tried this yet....but any of the colors would be good as highlighters on top of the cheeks or (my favourite trick) pressed on to your lipstick on the bottom lip in the center or on your cupids brow...

So as you can see this compact has loads of uses and there is plenty of product for you to have a play around...Thanks e.l.f I love this compact...

Have any of you ladies got this compact??    Do you love it as much as I do???

FOTD

Hello beauty bloggers...

I thought I would do a FOTD as I haven't done one in a while...Like I always say I don't use mac and most of my makeup is drugstore unless otherwise stated.....

In daylight

Inside in front of lighted mirror

I wanted this look to be a bit more of a natural pink wash....So I have used the following products...

Elf tinted moisturiser in spice as i am fake tanned at the mo
Avon mineral foundation - I buffed this over the top of the Elf  moisturiser as i like the more made up look and the finish
Bronzer- all over my face and contoured my cheeks
UDPP - over lid for a base
Le Femme - Pink e/shad over lid up to crease (review in previous post)
Le Femme - lighter pink up to brow bone and blended the two colors together
Eyeliner - purple on top & bottom lash line and went over with pink e/shadow used earlier to smudge it in
Mascara - 3 coats and curled lashes
Brows - used matt dark brown & black to sculpt my brows the shape i wanted them
Used Elf shimmer palette - pink shade just under brow to highlight (will be doing a review on this product this week)
Cheeks - pink blusher on apples and blended towards my hair line
Lips - outlined lips with pink pencil and applied pink lipstick then gloss over the top...

Pink & purple eyeshadow look done!!

So what do you think ladies????

La Femme eyeshadow compact

Hi my little lovelies....

Today I am going to review the La Femme 5 eyeshadow palette in different shades of pink...

La Femme eyeshadow palette in pinks
Swatches

(L-R)
Sorry no numbers or names for the shades??
1.Peachy pink
2. Mid pink (could use as a cheek highlighter)
3. Dark pink
4. very light pink (great for highlighting)
5. very light green..??? (highlighting)

I purchased this palette from e bay and it was around the £1.79 mark + P&P...so really inexpensive.  As you can see from the palette the colors are quite chalky but quite pigmented and the packaging is great as you can see your colors through the palette and the clear plastic is quite sturdy and it wont fall apart the first time you use it..
When I did my fotd I found that even with my UDPP I had to build up the color..but only slightly. When I opened the palette the eyeshadows all had a fine layer of glitter covering them..(why do they do this???)...when I applied the shadows i did have some fall...but nothing to shout about. In future I think I would wipe the fine layer off the glitter as it has no use at all.
The brushes (as usual) were rubbish..they shouldnt have bothered as they were those horrible scratchy foam applicators..yuk!!! straight in the bin they went....
This palette does have a few good highlighting colors whether its for highlighting under your brows/cupid bow or cheeks...I will actually try this out on a FOTD in the future and see how it works. Actually I could see it working really well pressed on top of a light pink lipstick which would make your lipstick stay on longer and give a real shimmer to your lips..

This is my FOTD..dont ask me why I am pulling this stupid face!!! hahahah
How I achieved this FOTD is in the previous post

So overall......

For...
I liked the compact design and the colors
Colors have a good pigment
Wicked price
Sturdy palette design
Love the clear plastic packaging

Against...
Colors are a bit chalky
Hated the glitter on top of the shadows
Can get a bit of fallout & color needs a bit of building even with an eyelid primer

So whats your verdict ladies???      Would you purchase???

mmm Rose wine i made myself

Hi beauties.....

In my spare time I decided a few months ago to make my own wine as my fab father in law has been doing it for years...and I thought I would give it a go...Well you may think that the Mr and I drink a lot..sorry to disappoint..but we don't....hahahahaha..so why make wine then you may ask!!!  I love making things and had never brewed any wine before....so I made the first lot and it was ok....but now.....whoooooooo.. the Rose I make which I call "Chateau Tuckers""" hahahahahaha is absolutely delish and people have started buying it off me...what a bonus.......We don't like dry wine so I tried to make the Rose quite sweetish..and guess what it only worked!!    lol I couldn't believe it....So now I am making regular supplies and everybody loves..Result....

Some of my wine bottled... I always recycle my bottles too
By the way.....I have begged and borrowed all of these Vodka/wine bottles...honest..

SBC Collagen kit from qvc

Hi Blogging beauties

I thought i would give you some of my advice on collagen and ageing....

As we all no as we get older the collegan and elastin in our bodies gets disconnected which unfortunatley results in sagging and wrinkles. New cells dont grow as quickly and dead cells dont shed as quickly which can result in greyish dull skin...ok so we now no that we need collagen in our skin and we defo need to exfoliate to shed those pesky dead cells this will equal helathy glowing skin...

There are many things that we can to help skin slow down the ageing process and that doesnt mean going under the knife or botox..but beware many skincare anti ageing products very often have such a low concentration of active ingrediants that they wont make much difference at all.... unless you are using skincare such as Angela Langford skincare or other such organic products....

May i introduce.....drum rolll..............

SBC Collagen from qvc

£31.50 + £4.95 P&P

SBC are water based gels and here is what Beauty Express say about the gel:-

Collagen Gel
  • Collagen treatment at affordable prices
  • A facial and body moisturising gel that is light and easily absorbed
  • A treatment mask for eyes, neck and décolleté
  • Excellent under make-up moisturizer and night treatment gel which with regular use will assist in minimising fine lines and wrinkles
  • An economical treatment gel for use
    with galvanic and micro-current equipment
As you can see from the above statement collagen is an all round good egg. I have over the years recommended all my friends & rellies onto this product as of yet..i have not found anything that comes any where close to moisturising the skin as good as this.

I use it as a serum after i have cleansed..and you can go right up onto the eyelids (smooths out the crepeiness) and around the eyes. Once a week or more if i need it...i use it as an eye mask..and put a layer on..wait for it to sink and just keep reapplying until the gel no longer sinks in..or better still go to bed in it. I also do this as a face mask as i have mega dry skin on my face and put it on while i am in the bath. If you have a rather large boobies i recommend taking the gel over the face, neck and boobage area (decollete) and it helps to smooth out the vertical lines you can get.

So as you can see this gel is my one of my desert island products. I highly recommend using this and a 500ml bottle last absolutley months as you only need a little.

Have any of you used Collagen gel from SBC before???

Angela Langford review

Hi my little beauties.....

Today I'm going to review the wonderful Angel Langford samples that i received...to have a look on her website please go here...

Clean Sweep Luxury Cleansing Balm £21.40

This is exactly what it says on the tin...pure luxury..it is a clear oil base of Shea butter, apricot kernel oil and Eucalyptus and chamomile to name but a few ingredients..so comforting. I massaged this over my whole face and eyes, a little goes a long way and it spreads over your face like a dream with no need to drag the skin at all...we don't want any pesky wrinkles ladies.. then i used a wet hottish flannel to take off my makeup while i inhaled the wonderful aroma....every single bit of mascara and make up came off...woop woop...my skin felt moisturised, smooth and clean. I would highly recommend this especially if you normally buy Liz Earle cleanse and polish...as angelas clean sweep also takes your mascara off in one fell swoop. There wasn't much change in  my skin as i received a sample size.
I would definitely recommend this product

Freshen UP rose, geranium & orange blossom toner £10.35
This sample came in a brilliant little spritz bottle which was so convenient and i wish all toners came packaged like this.....Oh and the smell was absolutely gorgeous because of the rose geranium and orange blossom. To be honest i am not one for toners really and i only use a toner once a week....but it got the last traces of my cleanser off and smelt so fresh...and didn't make my skin feel all tight...which was great as i have dry skin. If you love your toner this is definitely worth trying out.

Renew & Repair Q10 & Vit E Oil £22.55
This oil is absolutely delightful to use..some of you would think...eeewwww an oil on your skin wouldn't feel right..but believe me on my dry skin this felt amazing. This oil includes ingredients such as Argon oil, blackcurrant and rosehip oils to name but a few. I put a few drops on my fingertips and gently tapped in onto my skin, again inhaling the wonderful aroma.. then as angela advises gently massage for a few minutes for the oil to be absorbed into your skin. The oil sank in beautifully and my skin felt hydrated and smooth..in fact i didn't use a moisturiser on top of this as i felt my skin didn't need it. This is well worth the money as a little goes a long way.

Overall the samples i was sent were a decent size but didn't last long enough for me to visibly see a major difference in my skin..however my skin felt moisturised, smooth and looked really healthy. I would highly recommend all of the above products i have used especially as angelas products are natural and have not been tested on animals... which in my book is a huge bonus.

Has anybody tried angelas products? What are your thoughts....

Confidence: Confidence...?????

Confidence: Confidence...?????: "Hi chicklettes... I was wondering today... What gives us confidence???? I have been lacking in this department for quite some time..."

Sunday 26 September 2010

Confidence...?????

Hi chicklettes...

I was wondering today...

What gives us confidence????

I have been lacking in this department for quite some time and it got me thinking. How do you get your confidence...is it putting your make up on in a morning...wearing that bright red lipstick..a long soak in the bath with your favourite bath products...chocolate..watching your fave movie???

If we loose our confidence is it because..someone has said something you didn't want to hear...your did something wrong at work...your life changed and you didn't want it to...your dreams seem so far away..you don't feel good enough..you had a row with your family...

and

If we loose our confidence does it ever come back??????

I would love to hear your feedback on this question..tell me what makes your confidence soar above the clouds...

Lola rose from QVC

Hello my little beauties

I was having a mooch on the qvc website as i do from time to time..heheh and came across the wonderful Lola Rose jewellery.

Here is what QVC say about the gorgeous jewellery

Lola Rose jewellery is all about colour, texture and affordable luxury.
Designer Nikki Gewirtz has a passion for nature's finest semi-precious stones, and her jewellery boasts inspirational designs with tactile finishes that the stars love.

You must go and have a look as all Lola Rose designs..they do not have sterling silver fastenings or clasps, they have these chinese knots, which is excellant because that means it fits everybody and if you have long nails..like me...you can actually fasten them yourself..woop woop..... ooooo her rings are to die for, they are very large statement pieces and of course are all made with semi precious stones. I do actually have one and every time i wear it i get loads of compliments. Many celebrities where Lola Rose jewellery and you can always spot a lola rose design a mile off because she has such inspirational designs.

Let me now what you think? What is your favourite rings, necklaces, bracelets?

Lady Mucks haul

hi bloggettes......As i was looking through the hundreds of blogs that i follow i noticed a website called Lady Mucks (sorry can't remember who's blog it was)... so i had a mooch and found some mega gorgeous bath and body products all handmade. so i went ahead and i ordered:-
(l-r) Pink Wedding cake soap, solid lotion bar, passion fruit pink soap, 8 bath creamers, blue amber wood soap (with label), Ocean breeze soap, Blue solid sugar body scrub, Massive bath bob in center

This is what Lady Muck states about her soap

A wide selection of hand made soaps made from 100% vegetable based ingredients to produce a mild and gentle lather to cleanse...They are not tested on animals as its very strongly against my beliefs and are also suitable for vegetarians...

My order....

Blue Amber wood SLS Free Handmade Soap £1.69

I wont be reviewing this as its a present, a great smelling man soap.

Pink hand made soap Wedding Cake strawberry & cream £1.50
This is also a present but smelt of strawberry's and looked so cute..mmmm

Ocean Breeze Traditional Handmade Soap £1.89
This is soap is so fresh and would defo wake you up in the mornings. I actually bought this for Mr but he likes my passion fruit soap!!!hehehe The lather off this soap is sooooo moisturising and creamy and your skin is like silk after using it.Its going to last ages too.

Passion Fruit SLS Free Handmade Soap 1.69
Yes this is mine all mine, well that's what i thought!!! Again this soap has such creamy bubbles and i found that after using it i didn't need to use moisturise. I have never experienced that before as i have dry skin all over!! Again this soap is long lasting.

French Vanilla & Blackcurrant Bath Creamers x 8 £3.89
These little balls are amazing...i am normally very heavy handed so i thought..i will pop 2 of these little babies into my bath...OMG...even though they are small they take absolutely ages to dissolve..which is a good thing...and your left with pure Shea butter floating on top of the bath..i then rubbed the Shea butter into my skin while i was still wet and in the bath...After my skin was amazingly moisturised and silky. I will defo be repurchasing these as they are brilliant value. You have to be careful when using these bath creamers as the bath will be slippy when you get out...so make sure you clean the bath out or not depending how much you like your partner!!!lol

Black Raspberry & Vanilla Bath Bomb 200g £1.99
This is massive you could put the whole thing in the bath or use if for 2 baths and smells divine. I cannot review this as it was a present.

Carnt remember flavour...solid sugar body scrub 120g £4.49
This baby i now cannot live without. Its a good size to hold in your hand and it does not crumble at the first sight of water. I use it on my dry body which feels so invigorating before i shower and its amazing at exfoliating and getting rid of the last bits of fake tan. This bar is a proper hardcore scrub..i love it...I have also used it on my wet body which then turned it into a medium scrub and obviously it went further. I cannot stress how impressed i am with this bar as i have been looking for a hardcore scrub for ages which actually feels like its doing something and not just tickling the skin!!! Again like with all the products i have reviewed this is amazingly moisturising and left my skin like silk. Defo defo a repurchase.

Fruity Solid lotion bar 90g £2.99
Wow this another favourite of mine..You hold the solid bar in your hand and it gently starts to melt and let off the most amazing fragrance. I have found that this bar can be used everywhere on your body...elbows/knees/cuticles/hands..just about everywhere. As the bar is a solid oil you would think it takes ages to sink..well it doesn't but i would save it for a night time when you put your jarmers on after because it really relaxes you. In the morning you have beautiful baby soft skin..another repurchase.

So overall i am over the moon with my new purchases and will defo repurchasing again in the future as my skin is hydrated and not scaly like a snake anymore.

I also got a volume discount of £1.54 Bonus and the shipping was £5.30..not too bad as the package will be quite heavy .

I would like to point out that i am not affiliated in any way to Lady Mucks and i purchased all items with my own money.

sorry about the weird spacing of this post...took me ages to get it nearly right!!!gggrrr
